In chapter 18, Cohn leaves pamplona. Romero is doing pretty bad due to the conditions he has from his beeating. Brett suggest to go into a church to pray for romero and his injuries. Romero still wants to compete with the bullfighting because he is a true dedicated man to bull fighting. Romero gives brett his cape to hold during the fights. Romero fights and guides the bull that killed the man running in the street, and eventually kills it. He gives its notched ear to brett. Brett and Romero eventually leave pamplona together on a train.
