Iliad, Iliad, Iliad!
E PERIOD - What were your thoughts on Iliad, Iliad, Iliad!? Did you find the that use of humor made the reading more enjoyable or did you find it childish? Although it is a silly account of the Trojan War, did you find that you learned the basic facts, or was the way it was written detract from your understanding. We will be acting parts of this, (if not the whole play) out in class. Are there any particular parts you would like to play? You may list up to three. Narrator 2, Odysseus, and the MC will be broken into separate parts.

It is like a some kind of interesting script. The Lliad describe a famous story that Trojan War but just the end of the war. I can figure out a very interesting thing that although at the important monments even emergency, they were very polite. For example, there is a sentence said by Hector, he said:"Hello, my name is HECTOR. You kill my friends.Prepare to die." It was so unbelievable. You are supposed to noticed your enemy that you would kill him later. It is so fanny. I can realize that the people at that time have different throughts with mine.
ReplyDeleteThe story was a childish way of telling the tale. However, it was clever how it tied everything together in a humorous way. The only problem was that it lingered too long on the 'beauty pageant' scene. Also, little tidbits here and there that were meant to be humorous, became distracting and became easy to want to just skip through.

ReplyDeleteIt is a interesting script. Its a fast way to learn and easy way to learn about the Trojan war it.For example whe trojan said " were using swords, you cant use a machine gun!
ReplyDeleteGreek said " we Greeks have advance beyond your puny civilization".This is tellin me that the Greeks had beter technolgy then the Trojan.Even thou when Greek use a modern weapon like the machine.It gives you a better understading what the Greek was all about and what they thought about themself.

ReplyDeleteThis thing is a very interesting script, the words they use humor speak about this story. The play's main story is about the battle of Troy, but in such a way that they describe a boring story. I think this method is very good. He tied all the content together, allowing the reader to experience the story of what happened. In this interesting story environment, we will not jump to see this book, however we will slowly read this book.

ReplyDeleteWhen i read Illiad, i was at elementary school. So when i finished it, i could not hold the book again, because it was so thick to me. whenever i was that thickest book in my shelf, i always thought it would be great it there are children version of Illiad. But today i think i found one. it was really funny, lots of humors, and the story flows really easy that childre can undertand easier than original epic. This Illid! Illiad ! Illiad summirize original one really well so i really recommend this to children who got hard time to read Illiad.
I am so confused about this story. There are many of things I can not understand. It describes the end of Trojan War, I know that is so far from me, and wat I can do is to realize the details and find something is different with today.
ReplyDeleteI consider that the humorous dialogues made me more attracted me to the story.Though some of them are a bit ridiculous, but undoubtedly, they showed the character of the role directly. Illiad Illiad Illiad fetched the vital parts of the story, use the simple and kind of childish words to make me understand and remember the main point of the play, of course the Trojan War.

The Iliad is a interesting story, the script is so funny, I think if we perform this play, the audience may enjoyed it. The Iliad is baded on the Trojan War, any some of the pilots are familar with the original even same. If I am a character of this play, I would like to be the Greeks. However, I don't want to sing during the play because my singing is bad.
ReplyDeleteI thought the play were really interesting. It uses of humor mad the reading more enjoyable. And yes, I learned the basic facts; the play was talking about the Troy War and explained the cause of the Troy War, what’re the characters’ thoughts during the war. I like to study of Greek Mythology in play form because everything was as first person, the play describe the events pretty simple and easy to understand because it was in dialogue form. And I would like to play Hera.
ReplyDeleteThe script is good way to introduce the people with mythology. People will wonder more information about mythology. I mean firstly people laugh but after that they start to be curious about mythology. In my opinion it's not just for laughing also it is for introducing people with mythology
