  1. The tone in the poem '' I heard a Fly buzz-when I died'' by Emily Dickinson is a very depressing poem. The (-) pauses in the end of the lines in the poem are used as rhyme scheme. In the poem it seems like something really big happened in her life that even the little things become much more important and noticeable. There is a repetition of words in the poem as buzz, room, and stillness.

  4. In Emily Dickinson's "'hope' is the thing with feathers",author writes hope like a bird. In each stanza, the rhyme of the last words of first and third sentence are identical. The rhyme of last words of second and fourth sentence are also identical. These make reader feel comfortable and fun. Then reader can think about the words in the poem and be hopeful in life, like a bird. So, the tone of this poem is praise.

Emily describes “hope” as a bird and it will be everywhere and it will never stops “at all”. There is also some alliteration using in the poem. Phrases such as ‘without the words’ and‘strangest Sea’ strengthen the impact of the images and they shows the poem’s theme that hope is always there no matter how hard the situation is. 6. All of the poems read on pages three and four of our poem packet use sound to help express the improtance of the poems. In Emily Dickinson's poem "Hope" is the the things with feathers, she expresses a greatful/thoughtful tone through the use of diction, such as "perches" and "sweetest", and also repetition of the the word "heard" to explain the importance of the bird which symbolizes hope. The third line of the poem says" And sings the tune without the words". This means that the birds are always making music, and yet they never say a word. The theme of Dickinson's poem is that birds are what give us the peaceful music that we hear wherever we are, the music that wraps its arms around us, the music that we take for granted, but is always there for us. People should not act that way towards the thing that give us all hope; is hope.

  8. "Hope" is the thing with feathers
The author is trying to tell us that we all have a soul inside of us. It is what gives us hope and life, but never needs food. It is a sad tone because the author wants the readers to know that there still is hope for them even though they do not know it. It is to make it known that no matter where one is they will still have hope. The author wants the readers to know that as long as they believe they will find hope, even in the most desolated places.
