  1. Annabel Lee and Allen Poe loved each other so much, even the winged seraphs of heaven Coveted her and Allen Poe and he thought the angels in Heaven are not half so happy and they want to go envying Annabel and himself.

    This poem is like a story, all about love. And things what recurs regularly or frequently are easily to remember and also use alliteration and assonance let sounds of whole poem more frequently. On the other hand, also can take a look at alliteration and assonance, for example:

    But our love it was stronger by far than the lovE

    OF those who were older than wE

    OF many far wiser than wE

    And neither the angels in heaven above,

    Nor the demons down under the SEA,

    Can ever dissever my soulfrom the soul

    OF the beautiful Annabel LEE.

    For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams

    OF the beautiful Annalbel LEE;

    There are three turning point in the poem, and tone also changed three times from missing, anger to sadness.

  2. Definition of the words: seraphs-angel who has 6 wings.
    The reason Annabel Lee has to die is because she's pretty, so her relatives brought her away from narrator and killed her.
    "In a kingdom by the sea."and "of the beautiful Annabel Lee" is the repetition in this poem.
    The examples for alliteration is "It"and "In";"The"and "That";
    The assonances for example in this poem are"ago"and"know";"sea"and "lee";"Lee"and "me";"love"and "above".
    The repetition and the sound are related in this poem.
    The tones of this poem are self-confident, sad, ironic,trustful,faithful and hate.The main tone is trustful.
    At the beginning of the poem, the tones are self-confident and happy because"than to love and be loved by me."shows he believes Annabel Lee was only in loved with him. The tone of second stanza is change from happy to defeated/hate because "with a love that the winged seraphs of Heaven coveted her and me." shows that author thinks even angel jealous their love so it brought Annabel Lee away from him. The third stanza's tones are hate and cold because author uses words like chilling, away,sepulchre to show that Annabel Lee, his lover was killed by her relatives, not from angel. Since here, over all tone become ironic. Author said Annabel Lee dead because Angel jealous their love, so brought her to heaven. But now he brings out the truth is Annabel Lee was killed by her relatives. Authors uses metaphor to compare Annabel Lee's relative with angel, they could both let people dead.
    The rest of the stanzas' tones are trustful and faithful because author keep saying "of the beautiful Annabel Lee" and said" but our love it was stronger by far than the love." Shows even though Annabel Lee was really pretty, but they're only loved each other, and after she dead, author still loves her. Life or death couldn't be their distance to separate them.

  3. It is a so beautiful poem that I was deeply touched. Annabel Lee, a girl lived in a kingdom, fell in love with the narrator. It seems that Annabel Lee was died in a sudden biting wind, in fact, she was killed by the heavens because they are jealous of Annabel Lee loving with the narrator romantically.
    The repetition in this poem is obvious, for example, the couplet of the first stanza is ABABAB. The second stanza is CDCDCD. They both have same couplet. In addition, "In a kingdom by the sea" is a repetition line in each stanza.
    Alliteration means the similar sounds in the beginning of line, in this poem, like BY,I,MY and THAN,AND are the example of alliteration.
    In some words, the consonant sounds similar, but the vowel sounds different called assonance, such as AGO, KNOW and SEA LEE ME.
    At the beginning of the poem, the narrator memory the love between Annabel Lee and him, " It was many and many a year ago, than to love and be loved by me", so the tone is soft. In the middle, narrator's tone become mad because his lover killed by heavens," and this was the reason that, long ago, chilling and killing my Annabel Lee". At last, he clams that he won't give up that he will always love Annabel Lee, "For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams", so the tone in this part is optimistic.

  4. Annabel Lee is the last poem written by Edgar Allan.
    Because Annabel Lee's love is so perfect that angered seraphs. They coveted, envied Annabel and the author.
    The repetition: "of the beautiful Annabel Lee" this represents even how far Lee and author were separated by anymore. In author's mind, Lee is always charming and attractive for him.

    Sound
    "I was a child and she was a child,
    In this kingdom by the sea;
    But we loved with a love that was more than love-
    I and my Annabel Lee;
    With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
    Coveted her and me."
    "sea" "Lee" "me" the /i:/ is made us hear same syllable. Also has the connection between these three words, Lee and me are together near the sea forever. Like their undying love.

    Alliteration:
    "But our love it was stronger by far than the love
    Of those who were older than we-
    Of many far wiser than we-"
    "Alliterating words: was, who, were, we, wiser, we"

    Assonance:
    "It was many and many a year ago,
    In a kingdom by the sea,
    That a maiden there lived whom you may know
    By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
    And this maiden she lived with no other thought
    Than to love and be loved by me."
    Assonance words: ago, know, thought; sea, lee, me

    It enhances the rhythm of the poem with the repetition of consonant sounds.
    "as in many and many,
    love and be loved,
    and those who were older than we"
    the words"a,o"

    Then tone changed peaceful and calmness to mournful. Because at first the poem describes the happiness between Lee and narrator until Lee was shut up in a sepulchre, the tone turned to mournful.

  5. To me it was about love but also about how this love was not lost in the darkness of death. Annabel, in the poem, was the love of his life and to me his love for her never changes because its funny how you can love someone so much, and still feel relieved when they’re gone, because you know you’ll see them again but its even funnier when you love that person even more when they are dead. But the truest love is the one that is not changed by death, nor by rumors that aren’t true, or fights, or negative habits they have...you don’t love the person more because they died but because you just can’t love them anymore than they do.

  6. Annabel had to die because the angels/seraphs in Heaven envied the relationship between the narrator and Annabel. They were jealous of the strong love that they shared. In lines 1-4 in stanza 3, “And this was the reason that, long ago, In this kingdom by the sea, A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling My beautiful Annabel Lee” Poe describes how he ended up losing Annabel They decided to have a wind blow as a signal to her kinsmen to take her away from the narrator. Edgar Allen Poe plays with sound by having all of the soft, kind, and gentle words rhyme. Throughout the rhymes, the ideas changes from the past to present. The tones vary between reflective, loss, remorse but then finally he comes back to cherishing Annabel Lee.

  7. The reason Annabel Lee has to die is because Annabel Lee’s highborn kinsmen came, bore her away to shut her up in a sepulcher.

    Annabel Lee him self by many critics regarded as poet wife incarnate, aims to love into the idealized eternal condition. The poet rich imagination, with empty solid, yingxiu in a long time with the vast space gallop freely, fairy tale with reality will blend together, full-bodied emotion and frankness brushwork mutual set off, the use of large symbolism more endowed with poems miracles. The author skillfully using full of intelligence of image, the complex stack loopback phonological, with its usual fine brush to make work off the flow of the present tradement and witty beauty, imagination and emotion between reached to reaches the perfect unity, ground of incisively and vividly shows the author of "aestheticism" style of artistic pursuit. The poem thick pen baiken dyed by the ocean esthetic romantic atmosphere, both pure love, also have pathos tragedy. The sea of eternal signify the forever love.

    “Of those who were older than we—
    Of many far wiser than we--
    And neither the angels in Heaven above
    Nor the demons down under the sea,
    Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,
    In her sepulchre there by the sea--
    In her tomb by the side of the sea. ”

  8. i think Annable Lee died because she has the perfect love even the God must also jealous, she died by a cold wind that is probably because they bring.The poem 'Annabel Lee' can be classified as a poem in many different ways. Ballads became widely popular during the medieval ages, when traveling singers called troubadours roamed around the land singing of great deeds done by heroic knights. These ballads consisted of supernatural elements, such as fire breathing dragons and crafty old wizards. At the end of the ballad, the knight usually rescued a beautiful princess. 'Annabel Lee,' written by Edgar Allen Poe, has all of these characteristics and truly can be identified as a ballad.

  9. Because the angels envy him and Annabel, so they take her life to the heaven.
    "In this kingdom by the sea" appears 5 times, it is the place where Annabel's grave is. So actually the narrator is calling her name.
    This poem reminds me of a movie "Ghost", which was world-famous in last century. Poe plays with sound by the /i:/ rhyme, like "sae","Lee","me","we".
    Alliteration:
    "Of the beautiful Annabel lee;
    And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
    And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side"
    Assonance:
    "It was many and many a year ago."
    There is 7 "a"s in it.
    The tone of the poem changed from sad to satisfied.

    tomb:a place for the burial of a corpse.

  10. In the poem Annabel Lee dies because an angel of the order envy her. The repetition of the Poem is it repeats the soud of long "e." In stanza 4 the pattern alters to me, sea, and Lee. In stanza 5 he uses we, we, sea, and Lee. In the last stanza he uses Lee, Lee, sea, and sea. Internal rhyme occurs in the last line of Stanza 4 “Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.”

    "It was many and many a year ago,
    In a kingdom by the SEA,
    That a maiden there lived whom you may know
    By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
    And this maiden she lived with no other thought
    Than to love and be loved by ME.

    In the poem assonance it is killing and chilling; alliteration it is love with a love is more then love it self.repetition and sound are related in the poem because the sound repeats its self. The tone of the poem Changes to anger to loneliness.

  11. Annabel Lee

    Rhyme scheme:

    xaxaxa xaxaxa xaxaxaxa

    It is a lyric poetry which means it represents emotions about what author feels and this make us feel. We are getting more emotional when we read the this poet aren't we? Two lover lost each other one of them passed away other one in this world which is remarkable separate between two lovers. Their love started from their chilhood it contiunes until she passed away. There is no exact information about how she died. I think she died because of cold and weather because he says that

    That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
    Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

    This can be environmental situantions or it can be people who jealous of their love because he is talking about angels who they are not happy in heaven even they are in heaven.
