This poem is about a guy was stuck by a bunch of wood on the way home, so he was disappointed but calm at first, as "Whose woods these are I think I know". Later, his horse affect him, he began to be anxious, as "He gives his barness bells a shake". "The only sound's the sweep of easy win and downy flake." This showed the guy was discouraged, but at last, he found his hope, and confident, as "but I have promises to keep", this showed his tough. I think this poem showed the hope inside everyone's mind, I love the "but I have promises to keep" for it showed the confidence and courage of the guy.
ReplyDeleteThe Road Not Taken
ReplyDeleteThe poet uses rhymes at every end of sentence, such as “ wood” and “stood” , lay” and “ day”. They make the poem easier to read out. In addition, the poet writes the latter way he took more detailed than the former one. And at the end of the poem, he refers that he feels strong different between the way which many people has taken and the way which is less traveled by. Last but not least, the poet repeats the sentence” Two roads diverged in a yellow wood.”
Fire and Ice
First, the poet says that the world will end because of fire, because he knows the feel of desire. He thinks that the desire is hot enough like fire can destroy the world. Then he assumes if the world can reborn, this time, he will choose to ice, because he thinks that except fire, ice is also powerful. It is destruction enough to end the world. He also uses some rhymes, like” re” and “ ce”.The short poem reveals that the fire and ice both have enough power to end the world. Don’t under- estimate anything when you don’t know it clearly.
The poem "Stopping by Woods on Snowy Evening" refers to the confusion of a guy in the middle of the woods. The snowy, silent and lonely mood is highlighted by phrases such as "The only other sound's the sweep of easy wind and downy flake". And uses rhymes in the end of some sentences such as shake and mistake, to give a rhythm to the poem. He creates imageries as he writes and describes the woods as “lovely, dark, and deep” . It has also a mysterious tone overall founded in many paragraphs such as he says “But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep”. Which the reader never gets to know, who is he talking about nor which are the promises. This builds up the mysterious mood in it.

ReplyDeleteThe Road Not Taken:
In the poem, the two divergent roads means two totally different choices. The choice, at here, indicates the choice we could made in daily life. And the last sentence, emphasizes the topic point, which is that every choices you made before created the person you are now. Life is just like traveling which you will never know where you are going. The poem's context is mainly focused on the road is chosen but the title is about the road is not taken, which I think is very interesting. For the sentence, "In leaves no step had trodden black", I don't get it completely. Is that means no hesitation?
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening:
At first, I was stopping outside the woods. The tone's here is calm and quiet, but brings me a strange and cold feeling. To be honest, I don't get the whole poem at all. Why he has to waiting ousted that woods? I think the last part of that poem brings readers a pity and commiserative feeling.
In the poem, Stopping by the woods on a snowy eventing, it is about how people are always running "The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep" And never stop, to notice the world around them. The Author , Robert Frost, uses, Imagrey(paints a scene for us), when he tells us "the darkest evening of the year" Also there is ryme in the poem, for example "My little horse must think it queer, to stop without a farmhouse near.(queer and near)by riming all of these words he's also creating rythem, that moves the poem along, makes it sound interesting. Lastly, the link is broken, but anyways if I had to discribe the tone of the overall poem I would say it is Ominous, because it seems as if the author knows something he's not telling us,and it seems as if someone on the outside is telling the story. Also in the begining its like he's self satisfyed, with what he is doing , and then toward the end its as if hes really tired from the journey "And I miles to go before I sleep."
ReplyDeleteIn the poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost, the narrator was stopped by a dark and desolate place. He was sighing about these woods' owner and his life by describing the woods. "The woods are lovely, deep and deep, the narrator's attitude is positive. From my reading, I find out that tone is sort of pragmatic, his very last sentence is " But I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep." He came back from his sighing to reality which let me feel he is pragmatic.
ReplyDeleteHis rhyme is good, every second and fourth lines in a stanza matched up on the last word. His chose the diction that is easy to understand and mostly sweet, easier word choice make people clear and think more.
STOPPING BY WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING:
ReplyDelete- The meaning to this poem basically relates to us making our choices. It is basically talking about a man who ahs a decision to make. He has the decision to show himself in the owners house, and he also has the decision to not show himself and just watch as the mans house is filled with snow. The man has stopped there for a break because he has a while to walk with his horse, and decides to keep walking in the end of the poem. I think the word that best describes the poem is DRAMATIC. I think this because throughout the whole poem there is drama going on. The man is outside in the cold with his horse and doesnt want the owner of the house to see him. He then has to walk many miles for him to settle somewhere and sleep in peace.
The author of Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening begins this poem with the narrator’s sight of the woods then moves to the reaction of the narrator’s horse and back to the narrator’s sight of the woods again. It seems that the ‘traveler’ is thinking about the woods itself when stops at the woods at ‘the darkest evening of the year’, but I think he’s actually take a pause in his journey. The woods is a symbol of lovely place that can take a rest during the journey of life, a haven that traveler can get in when tired. The overall tone of the poem is steadfast. Just like what happens in our life, since we always have so long to go, we have to keep going, keep moving forward, no matter how nice the haven is, because we promised to our hearts. The author uses easy-understanding diction for this poem, which make it feels smooth while reading. I do like this style.
ReplyDeleteFire and Ice
The author brings an interesting question about whether the world will end in fire or ice. The fire here represents the hate and desire of human being, which mentions in the poem. According to my understanding, the ice would represent the indifference between people. Either one of fire or ice can bring extreme uncomfortable feeling, so do the things they represent. The overall tone of this poem is fevered.
I feel like the poem, Stopping by woods on as snowy evening is basically talking about our journey of the life. In the poem, the poet describes the journey as our life and telling the readers that sometimes it is very tough and want to take a break. However, as in the poem, it's telling that even when we feel tired and exhausted in our lives, we must keep going on and on and never stop and thats how the life should be. The tone of the poem is very peaceful. Also, it mentions about the promises and remembers about it and to keep the promises he just keeps his journey. For me, it sounds the poet is trying to give us a lesson about how hard and tired you are going through your life, you have to keep moving on in order to keep your promises. The mood in the poem is set by the environment that he described. The wood in the poem is very calm and peaceful but I can feel the loneliness. Even though no one is looking at him, he just does what he have to do and never stop. I learned a lesson that sometimes I feel lonely and exhausted by the environment, I have to keep working hard and never take a pause in my life.
ReplyDeleteI personally could not really get the point from the poem The road not taken. I am quite confused for understanding the poem, however, I felt like it is giving me a lesson in my life. There always be the time that I have to decide whether I have to do this or that. In first and second stanzas, it shows that I have to choose either of the way and go as far as you can and look for goal that i want to achieve and keep in that way no matter what. I usually hesitate whether I should do this or not but after I read this poem, I thought that I have to discover what I really want from the way I decided to go and no matter how it is, I can get something from it and it will make everything different and change my life. Also in this poem, the mood is very peaceful and calm. I feel the full of desire through the poem but at the same time I see the hesitation.
the poem, stoppimg by woods on a snowy evening is about the life, the world around him. in the line four its says the wood fill up with snow, it makes me feel the whole atomsphere is lonesome. in the line three the narrator stop and look at the look at the tree, the tree is attract him because it is lovely, it prabably make him like about something that is meaninful. howeveri think the author try to give us a lesson, when he stop moving on, he is kind of tired of his life, but the last two sentences shows us his strength, he knows that he has to mave on, he cant just rest there forever, and the poet repeat the last sentence twice, he is remind himself that he has to move on because he has promise to keep.
ReplyDeleteIn the poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" about the man who does not mind dying and he does not wants to leave world without finishing undone. in life we have to make decisions choosing rigts and wrongs. Some decisions maybe harder than the other but it is a chance that we have to take. Some people take the easy way in life some take hard and become succesfull. The tone of the poem is objective. We can unterstand in this lines" The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But i have promises to keep, and miles to go before i sleep." I think this lines about his promises to life and his friends and loved ones but in a sense he is choosing a path of death. So his decision undecided but he have to choose one. The rhytm of the poem is a,a,b,a.
